Welcome
It is difficult to emit an opinion of an artist and his work. Everything in art is mysterious to me. However, it was even more difficult when a friend asked me to write about an artist I knew very well. It was during the Summer of 2000 that I decided to review this artist's paintings. My observations revealed that his paintings have a serious humor with a "premeditated spontaneity". But most of all, his paintings are a search for freedom, which is so important in art. | ![]() |
That freedom allows him to paint about everything, from social themes to beautiful images, brilliant paintings like the sun that shines on my island of Puerto Rico, with rich and deep colors. He works with spatula, knife, a few brushes, but most of all with lots and lots of paint. To sum it up, his work is something different to what our tired eyes are used to seeing. That is why I say that if it is difficult for a stranger to describe someone else's work, it is much more difficult to write about my own. So, in order not to compromise anyone or bring to light how little is known about me, I have decided to write this introduction myself. I would like to end with an open invitation for you to look at my work. I hope you enjoy your visit... |
